GWIRE will help researchers study the movement patterns, symptom presentation and cognitive capacities of veterans suffering from Gulf War Illness. Utilizing key apple frameworks such as HealthKit and ResearchKit - and with YOUR help - GWIRE will collect massive amounts of data aimed at studying the intricacies of a very complex disease.

** A quick note about the way our app works **
Any and all of the data collected with this app will always remain de-identified, meaning that we will NEVER be able to tell who you are, or anything about you or your device. When you first download the app, you will be assigned a Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) that will sync all your data in our secure servers. As was reported to the Nova Southeastern University Institutional Review Board (IRB), you are, and will remain completely anonymous for your entire participation in this study. For more information, please reference the informed consent that you will be required to accept prior to participating in this study.

The app will request the following permissions from you and your device(s):
-Health App access (optional): If you carry your phone with you on a regular basis, or if you have an Apple Watch that you wear, your devices will sync up to your Health App on you iPhone. GWIRE will ask to access this data in separate data points, any or all of which youll be able to accept or decline at any time via the request pop-up page and/or your settings page. These answers will not affect your participation in this study.

-Notifications:
Youll be asked to turn on or off notifications. If left on, they will notify you daily, weekly, or monthly to come back to the app to rate your exercise and exercise capacity. You are encouraged, but are not required, to participate daily in the study. It should only take 5-10 minutes per day!
